3 Great Courses in NW Houston TX
Disc puppy is based in NW Houston and we have some awesome courses around here. There’s plenty of super wooded holes as well as water holes where you can exercise your Pond Puppy & Tree Puppy retrievers! If you’re ever in Houston, come play some of our disc golf courses. Here are 3 great ones I would recommend:
1. Agnes Moffitt Park Disc Golf (Hammerly Blvd & Beltway 8)
Why it’s popular: A very beginner‑friendly 18-hole course with mostly open, well‑spaced lanes—perfect for newcomers and quick casual rounds.
Course features: Flat terrain, ample shade, maintained tee pads, and baskets with nearby restrooms and picnic tables.
Vibe: A local favorite for glow‑rounds, after‑work play, and relaxed group outings.
2. Texas Army Trail (Bud Hadfield Park, Cypress)
Why it’s popular: A uniquely technical course with a mix of open and densely wooded holes—highly rated among Houston’s advanced layouts.
Course features: The first few holes are open, then it transitions into heavily wooded terrain; excellent variety and challenge.
Vibe: Well-regarded for competitive games, but bring water and watch for snakes—caution advised in summer.
3. Northside Christian Church Disc Golf (Kuykendahl & FM2920)
Why it’s popular: A well‑balanced nine‑hole course (with dual tee pads for 18), offering a nice mix of open and wooded play.
Course features: Good signs, challenging fairways, proper design for both beginners and pros.
Vibe: Frequently recommended, well-maintained, and regularly used for casual and tournament rounds.
