BEST PRACTICES

• Use two hands when extending (casting) the Pond Puppy Retriever over water.

• Let the snare head completely sink before pulling towards you.

• Pull with a steady grip at a medium speed to increase your chances of snaring discs.

• If pulling progress stops because of snagging on objects in the water (rocks, limbs, etc.), do not continue to pull or force the bowhead. Push back a few inches and avoid the object.

• Some ponds have watergrasses and other growth. These can be shaken from the bowhead before the next cast or cleared manually to keep the snare areas clear. If the pond growth is excessive, your Pond Puppy Retriever may not be the proper method of disc retrieval for that pond.

• Your Pond Puppy Retriever allows a 6X opportunity to snare a lost disc, so a slightly overlapping 2 ft snare head search pattern will yield the quickest retrieval results.

• Not all pond bottoms are flat so be aware your disc may slide along underwater angles and banks to the lowest resting position in the pond.

• Your Pond Puppy Retriever will convey the pond bottom geography to you via vibrations in your hand. It’s apparent when you snare a disc. If you think you're bumping into a disc, you probably are. Concentrate on that area more before moving on.
